Healthy Lifestyle Contest Daily Checklist - Notepad


I am putting together a contest where we add up daily points to 10 and have weekly winners and monthly winners. I would like to create a stockpile of awards, which could consist of a variety of items like healthy food, beauty items, crafty stuff, gift certificates ect. If you have any ideas or items you could donate to the contest, let me know.


Here's a look at the point system: I want to keep it simple but thorough, as there are a lot of things we're trying to remember each day.

6 points: Eat a balanced well portioned meal*

1 point: Drink at least 8 cups of water

1 points: Exercise

1 point: Try something new**

1 point: Leave a comment on the blog


Total points possible per day: 10 Total points possible per week: 60 (1 free day a week)

3 weekly winners and 3 top scores monthly winners.

*1 point per meal. Balanced meaning trying to get a close as you can to balancing your protein and carbs, or at least getting protein in each of your meals. Well Portioned means keeping within your recommended calorie, carb, fat count. For those just getting started using palm sized portions counts. I know there's a lot to learn and it's best to take it one thing at a time till we get it mastered then work on learning the next step.

**Try something new means just about anything related to healthy living including doing an exercise you haven't done before (or in a while), trying a new recipe, or food, or flavoring. Anything you consider novel to you that deserves a small pat on the back will earn you that point. I'm shocked at how many great things I've learned being open to trying new thing with Georgia's recipe blog and Luanne's food lists. Learning to appreciate whole foods has been a huge discovery for me.

Here's how the contest will work: taly your daily points and either text, email, call them in daily to me or you can just track on your own for a week. I will add them up at the end of the week, or you can just let me know your weekly total on Mondays (I know the weekends are crazy for most people especially during the summer) I will announce the top 3 winners via the message board/support group meeting.

This contest is ongoing and goes from week to week so let me know if you are in for the week. Also let me know if you have any ideas to fine tune the contest, or items you'd like to donate to the awards stash. This contest will run the month of July, I know there are many family reunions, vacations, and holiday festivities, so I hope this contest will help us keep on track during many potentially challenging social venues where we can learn to plan ahead to prevent stumbles.
